Why do I have to authorize every time I open a new song?

    it is likely that the authorization code is not written properly in the registry… which would hardly surprise me, given that you are running Cubase in 32-bit mode on Win 7 64-bit.

    You could try to right click Cubase and select ‘run as administrator’ to launch your host. Hopefully the attempt to write the code will be successful. Alternatively, please use the EZmix standalone app (the 64-bit one preferably) to authorize your product – it should work.
