To begin with: I don’t own EZMix (yet). I just read some reviews, saw some videos and tried demo.
While I am impressed with some presets that definitely improve the sound of my tracks, one thing that for the time being stops me from buying the product is it’s black box nature. You take it or leave it – it doesn’t tell you details of what it’s doing with sounds.
I know the product justifies its name. It’s easy. But I want it to be an intermediate stage to the final mix, not an alternative to a more powerful mixing. Right now I only know the preset name and that the preset includes EQ, compressor etc. This doesn’t teach me anything. If I liked the way EZmix processes my sounds I want to know what it does to them: what are the main parameters of EQ, compressor etc.
Don’t you think it’s relativel easy to add to the product? A small button “Details” that would open a popup window with a summary of applied parameters. Then if at a later stage I want to use more powerful effect processor, I have a good starting point: I know what EZmix did and I can take it further from there.
