I’m using SD3 with Simmons SD600 e-drums. I know, not the best kit but looking to upgrade it and want to make sure that I won’t have the same problem with higher end e-drums.
So when I’m playing grooves or just notes on the hi-hat somehow I’m triggering the nearest crash cymbal. So annoying! And sometimes I get stuck on the crash sound and need to move the foot (open or close the hi-hat) to be back to triggering hi-hat. I don’t have this problem when using sound library from the module. Did anyone came across this issue? What can I do to fix this?
I normally have the buffer size set to 126 to avoid latency and it does not matter if I use stand alone app or play it through the DAW.
I’m operating on PC, Windows 10, Intel core i7 10th generation, 24GB RAM.
Record and check the note numbers the module us sending. Remove these from the crash cymbal that is triggering and add to the hi hat. All this can be done in edrum settings. Does the hi hat switch or does it send cc information. Other cause could be crosstalk between the hi hat and cymbal from the kit. The only way to sort that is if there are trigger settings on the module that can stop this
SD3 with older sdx,s plus Rooms of Hansa and Death & Darkness. Cubase and wavelab current versions. Roland TD50x using all trigger inputs for triggering SD3 only. Windows 11 computer. Various keyboards and outboard gear as well as VST instruments. Acoustic drums: Yamaha 9000 natural wood and Pearl masters. Various snare drums. RME BabyFace Pro FS and Adam A7X monitors
Thanks Mark.
I will look into it and see if I can understand what you have just explained. I haven’t played much with the e-drum settings to be honest as I’m afraid to mess it up 🤣. I kinda had a feeling it could be something to do with that, but wasn’t sure what exactly. Thanks for the suggestions. I will definitely check that.
I’m not sure though how to add or remove the note numbers that the module is using, but I will figure it out.
Thanks again.
I can look into your issue and fix it in an online support session if you struggle with it 🙂
Thanks MintberryCrunch.
I imagine that I’ll probably need that kind of help. Not sure if I can handle it myself 🙈.
How do you go about online support session, how those that work?
