Hi all,
So I wanna buy a new ezx but so far I haven’t found anything that is 100% for me.
I play/record Classic Heavy Metal in the style of Judas Priest, Mercyful Fate, Saxon etc. Black Metal not overproduced but not potato produced either (Mayhem’s De mysteriis and Dissection Storms of the lights bane is a good example of what drums i like in black metal).
And last but not least, heavy southern rock in the style of Down, Corrosion of Conformity etc.
What I hate:
Clicky kick drum that is present in all modern recordings pretty much.
Super clean sound.
Overcomplicated drum fills and beats.
Djent
Technical Progressive Death Metal
In general, the old but gold ezx Drumkit from Hell I find it very helpful because it has many standard beats that are very easy to customise or keep them as they are.
The made of metal sounds good so far, and surprisingly enough the new ezx modern metal.
So what do you propose?
Cheers!
My favorite metal kit is one of the oldest “Metal!”. I feel I have to do the least amount of post processing to get the sound I want with it. Then Made of Metal 2nd. If you don’t want overproduced sounding metal drums, Metalheads might be right for you.

If you want drums that sound like drums, old school, check out Metal Machine, the Bubinga set.
The other Metal EZXs seem too modern for me.
Also look at Pop Punk and Hard Rock.
For MIDIs, check out the Rock Packs.
