Hey, guys.
I recently purchased this sound set (awesome, by the way) and need to create a drum map in Cubase for it. There’s not much information on the product page, so I was wondering where I might find the documentation that gives me a list of each instrument and their midi note so that I can create the map.
Would appreciate any insight you might have.
Thanks,
Chris
Load the EZX in EZD. Then go to Help>MidiLayout.

Thanked by: ShootieHey, Shootie.
Thanks for the help.
That does indeed show the mapping. However, saving to pdf gives me an image. I was hoping to copy the text of the names / notes to paste into an editor so I wouldn’t have to manually type out the entire thing to create the drum map. Any chance there’s a simple, plain text version of this documented somewhere?
I’ve never seen a text document of this info myself.

Oh, well. Typing it it is, then.
Thanks for pointing me in the right direction, man. Much appreciated.

There’s one place you should be able find the information in text form, but you may want to use it in conjunction with the Help > MIDI Layout pdf.
Find the file; instrumentgroups in the folder where each EZX is located.
This will contain the MIDI information along with text you should be able to cut/paste to your MIDI map.
I believe the default location is: C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Toontrack\EZDrummer but if you moved your EZX libraries then, wherever they are located. (I’m on Mac and only use a windows VM mapped to the Mac SSDs)
Mac Studio M1 Max, RAM 64 GB, 1TB Drive, OSX 12.x/13.x and Windows 10 (VM)
DAW: Studio One Pro (always up to date)

OWC Thunderbay Mini (4 X 1TB Sata SSD), Express 4M2 (4 X 2TB M.2 SSD), Envoy Express (1TB M.2 SSD)
Presonus Quantum, Faderport & Faderport 8
Black Lion Sparrow Mk2 A/D, FMR-RNP-RNC, MIDI Xpress 128, BM5A, KRK VXT4, Equator D5

Hey, Brad.
That’s awesome, man. Exactly what I was looking for, thanks!
One question. In the representative entry below, there’s a mainkey entry, which I’m guessing is what I’d use. However, there are also a lot of note entries. Any idea what those are about?
name “Maracas”
{
prio 0
mainkey 70
note 1
note 4
note 5
note 69
note 70
}

Yeah, so that’s why I suggested using it in conjunction with the help MIDI Layout, as the text file probably requires a little interpretation.
For example Maracas main key is #70. When you go into the MIDI Layout and highlight Maracas 2 the “Beat” articulation is #70.
Hope this is not too convoluted and makes at least a little sense.

I make a living as a software developer, so convoluted is kinda what I do.
And yeah, using the other doc as a reference makes sense. However, this file saves me a bunch of typing grunt work (nice to have a good programmer’s editor to automate things), so then it’s just about tweaking some values.
Whenever I get this done I’ll be happy to share the map with anyone else who would benefit from it.

I did OS development and integration for more years than I care to think about, so yeah…. anyway to avoid data entry, I am all for it!

Thanked by: ChristopherDuncanOS development? That sounds fun. I’m just your typical full stack corporate dev (MS tech). It ain’t glamorous, but it beats working for a living.
Okay, was able to create the drum map for Cubase, thanks very much for all the help. I’m sharing it so others can make use of it.
Hope this helps someone else as much as you guys have helped me.
Thanks,
Chris
