EZbass is following the host. During playback, I make an edit to something in verse 1. Then, I want to duplicate that edit in verse 2 without stopping playback. I manually scroll to that same section in verse 2, but the moment I let go of the scroll bar, the UI snaps back to the host’s position.
Digital Performer is very smart about this. During playback, if we manually scroll to another location, after releasing the mouse, we’re given about 5 seconds to make a selection or do something else in the currently visible location. If we make any move at all, the UI will suspend snapping back to the current location, giving us time to perform a task. Then, once no activity has been detected for 5 seconds (it may be 4 seconds; I’m not sure), that’s when the window returns to the playback position. It’s very smart and very conducive to productivity.
This is currently impossible in Toontrack’s products, because after scrolling to another position, the UI snaps back the very moment we release the mouse.
Please, please add this intelligent pause, giving us a few seconds to start working at any point to which we’ve scrolled before the UI returns to the host’s position.
