I bought EZ Bass 4 weeks ago. It has a few glitches (version 1.04) with Cubase 10 if you try to do too much too fast making changes in the Grid Editor. It crashed Cubase and when I opened it again the whole project was not saved . I started saving it every few changes both in EZB and Cubase and resolved that problem. Beyond that it is actually amazing.
For the rest of you that don’t like EZB, I think you have to give Toontrack a little time to work out the bugs and for people to learn how to us EZB effectively. I worked an a groove using EZ Drummer 2 to set up the basic rhythm in EZB and altered the (limited selection for now) of Grooves to find one close to what I wanted and using the transition option was able to quickly get it working the way it wanted it. The Groove was in 6/8 time and had some different chords beyond Major or Minor chords. The slides and hammer-ons did the job.
So, folks. If you want to play music beyond Heavy Metal or Rap loops, it is like trying to become a programmer to build a website with a free app, instead of actually programming one in WordPress, or a mobile phone app for photos compared to what Photoshop does for graphics. EZ Bass needs time for people to stop looking for perfection in a quality application with out learning how to treat it the way they created it. Watch all the Videos and Tutorials you can find.
As a professional working with real drummers and bass players in the past, I find EZ Drummer 2 and EZ Bass get the job done for me, and have no arguments from unreceptive musicians. Now I get better songs the way I want them for my recordings.
Give it some time. They will add more Grooves later ( I suspect).

Thanked by: SETH CARRINGTON and TambiAloha,
A non-bass player, I just purchased EZ Bass.
Wasn’t sure what Audio Sender was, which brought me to this discussion.
Just to be clear, I don’t need to download/install Audio Sender, correct?
If I want to pipe audio to EZ Bass, I’d then download/install Audio Sender and do so.
But if I’m not wanting EZ Bass to read my audio, I’m good to go?
Mahalo!

You must have had a bad version or something. I have been using it along with EZdrums and works very well, no glitches. I have not found any products that come close.

Thanked by: SETH CARRINGTONI’ve ALWAYS loved that about MIDI and DAW’s!!
I like people a lot, BUT musicians who won’t cooperate, are inconsistent or unreasonable … can truly ‘stifle’ the creative process, at certain stages.
If collaboration was the goal, then fine … I can accept ‘input’; but sometimes, you just want to develop your own ideas, without added ‘drama’ from other human beings (musicians). 🙂
Just yesterday, I was telling a friend that getting tools like EZBass is like hiring a pro-minded musician, to play an instrument you cannot play (well). And I think that because many programs are designed to be versatile, people don’t realize that getting under the hood of these things isn’t perfectly “EZ”, all the time.
I’ve had Steinberg Cubase for 30+ years… and it is no exaggeration to say, that one can learn much more about what it can do even decades later. The basics are indeed easy, however you can get WAY deeper if you want/must. 🙂

Thanked by: wingnut1What I’ve found is that from within EZB you have to export an audio file and then insert it back into the S1 song. I’ve tried the “transform” feature with midi only in EZB and nothing happened. I assume you can drag midi from EZB onto an instrument track, but what I understand is you’ll lose the articulations in EZB between notes. I seem to recall that the same is true for Superior Drummer 3 and EZKeys — you have to pull the midi into S1 first. If that’s wrong, sorry.
