Two questions – what would the drumming style be called that is featured in songs like “Two Step” by Dave Matthews Band and “Stop This Train” by John Mayer? And what would be the best MIDI Pack to purchase to get those styles of beats?
They seem to be a mixture of train beats and double time grooves, some with use of brushes in the case of Stop this Train. Train rhythms are more prominent in Country MIDI packs. However, you can also hack some together using the Edit Play Styles and Grid Editor. In this case the snare would be your power hand.

Thank you jord, that’s super helpful! I should have thought to look at the Country packs!
People often underestimate the value of those particular MIDI packs. I’ve often found some some of the country packs to be very valuable in blues-rock.
Glad it helped.
