Weird question but I’m curious… I originally was an EZDrummer 2 user with several EZX’s installed on my local drive. Then I upgraded to SD3. My SD3 libraries live on a separate USB drive. I have a kit that has a mix of parts from EZD and SD3 in a mix in my DAW. Sometimes, I forget to plug in my USB drive, but the drums still play other than some stuff that is not available (like my toms).
So what is SD3 doing? Is it just playing all the parts that it finds from the EZX’s that are on my hard drive and ignoring anything else? Is doing different stuff with the mixer? Asking, because it sounds kind of good, and wondering if I can tweak my kit to sound like it does when the drive is not plugged in.
Happy accidents. Thanks.
Scott
Check in Settings > Libraries/Paths if you have more than one installation of the SD3 libraries. Maybe a smaller installation is on the local drive? SD3 will then use the smaller installation as a backup and it can sound different. Otherwise, if a library is not available when you load a project, there should be a dialog alerting you about that (with options what to do about it).
