I don’t have much to add to the title of this post.
I read the manual and I just don’t quite understand what “replace midi” does.
didn’t find any YouTube videos about it.
it sounds like you’re just taking one midi pattern and replacing it with another, but how is that different than doing a drag & drop from grooves to the song panel on the bottom? There must be more to it.

You can replace your groove all or in part. Replace MIDI allows you to audition the part along with your current groove, such as a hi-hat, with your current groove and replace just that.

so does that mean, as in your example, the current high hat pattern would be muted while you tested out another high hat part?
That, or whatever the power hand may be. Power hands are not always the like for like.
