Hi,
I just bought a BopPad and I own EZD3.
I’m trying to make the snare sound change depending of the area where I’m striking on the BopPad.
In the BopPad I have a CC (with the number I can choose) that send a message (0 to 127) dépending to where I strike the pad.
I don’t realy know how it work on EZD3 and where to send this message from the BopPad
As MIDI Map I have this :
I suppose it should be Zone Trigger and Zone Control that I have to manage but I don’t find any information about them in the manual.
Can you help me to understand how it work?
Best regard
(PS. If it’s not obvious : English is not my native language)
Hi,
the ‘Zone Trigger’ is the note number that triggers the Snare and the ‘Zone Control’ is the CC data determining which zone on the Snare that sounds.
The Zone Control is by Default set to CC16. In EZD3 you can’t manually edit the zones but perhaps this can be done in the BopPad software if needed?
The Rimshot and Sidestick can still have their own Trigger notes.

Thank you it’s much clear now.
What is the difference between “Center” and “Zone Trigger”? Don’t they provide the same sound?
I tried to select “Center” alone and after “Zone trigger” alone and the sound seam the same but with a little less power with the zone trigger.
Can you help me to better understand what it was intended the user to do?
Best regard
Yes, if you hit in the center of your pad when triggering the ‘Zone Trigger’, you are triggering the ‘Center’ articulation as well as if you hit the edge of your pad you will hear the ‘Edge’ articulation. That’s the beauty of using CC data to determine the location of the hits on your pad.
