Hi,
I use SD3 on Mac.
I have a drumset (Roland TD11) connected via Midi Out (NOT USB) to a Bome Box, and this Box via USB to the Mac. I installed all necessary Software for the Bome Box. I installed Midi Monitor. It shows incoming Midi if I hit the drums. For example:
Source: From BomeBox – Net
Message: Note On
Chan: 10
Data: D1 94
and Note Off after that.
So, I think Midi works.
But in SD3 there is no Midi input.
I selected BomeBox – Net as Midi Device (its displayed and checked in the MIDI Device Dialog) and MIDI Channel is “ANY”
In the Analyzer is only “Waiting for Midi” if I hit the drumpads.
What have I to do, to get that working?
(I can not connect the drum direct to the computer. That would work, but I change the Setup to a TD 10 interface (the Audiofront eDrummin is not available at the moment) an need to route the Midi Signal to another computer. Thats why I need to use the BomeBox)
What midi interface have you selected in SD3? Is it the one you have set the Bomebox to output midi from?
I dont have a Bomebox but it works as a midi router so you will have to route the midi in you are plugged in to the midi out you have routed into SD3
SD3 with older sdx,s plus Rooms of Hansa and Death & Darkness. Cubase and wavelab current versions. Roland TD50x using all trigger inputs for triggering SD3 only. Windows 11 computer. Various keyboards and outboard gear as well as VST instruments. Acoustic drums: Yamaha 9000 natural wood and Pearl masters. Various snare drums. RME BabyFace Pro FS and Adam A7X monitors
I think I figured out the problem. The BomeBox sends Midi over Network. I disconnected the Usb from the Box to the pc and the MidiMonitor shows incomming Midi. But BomeBox does NOT use Rtp-Midi. So I think it is not possible to get the Bome network midi working with SD3/on mac. As you said, the Box is not a Midi device, it is a router. Bome will support rtp midi in the future, but at the moment I only can use it as a Midi splitter. I must connect the SD3 by Midi cable to my audiointerface and gets then midi input in SD3.
So, I get it working with the Bome Network Midi 🙂
The problem was the not running audio device on the pc running SD3. On stage, I use a Tascam Interface with 10 Outputs. But for testing in my office, the Tascam is not here. I did not think that that is a problem 🙂 I tried now starting the built in audio and all works fine. I get Midi over the network 🙂
Great. Glad you sorted it 👍
