I just bought SD3 and I have a Roland td-30kv. I updated the td30 module and installed the drivers on my Mac book pro (Catalina 10.15). I have followed the directions on SD3 user guide to connect my module to my computer and I believe I have the settings correct. I can stike the drums on the screen of my Mac and I can hear them on my monitors. However when I strike my drums the kit sounds very faint at the loudest of volumes. Also it keeps saying “waiting for midi” in the bottom left corner. I could use a little help. Thanks.
Try changing the level referenced in this link up to 127. I recall this being mentioned recently but I’m not sure about the waiting message.

When you strike your kit what velocity’s are you generating? When you click on them it generates a full midi 127. You can record and check what velocity’s in sd3. You may need to set up the triggering on the td30 to get the right velocities on hard hits. The Roland modules are very forgiving of non optimum trigger setup but sd3 can only respond to what it receives.
