Hi. I got Rock Solid yesterday and first thing I tried to do was replace a track I made with the stock pop/rock samples with the Rock Solid kit. I notice there is a significant volume difference on many hits. I understand Rock Solid has the compression channel that the stock kit doesn’t have, but there seems to be about a 6 db difference in the volume between Rock Solid and the standard kit (if I raise a track with Rock Solid by 6 db in volume, sounds about as loud as the stock kit track, all other settings equal). Can anyone explain the interplay between compression channel, etc. that accounts for volume differences, or the easiest way to make the Rock Solid volume match stock kit? Is the “velocity distribution” different (i.e. a snare at 100 on Rock Solid different volume than a snare at 100 on stock kit)? Thanks.
