visualization of drums when playing song

When I’m playing a song that I’m working on in Cakewalk/BandLab, sometimes the drums in EZ Drummer 2 will “play” or visualize, and other times it will not. There’s no problem at all with the sound, and if I use my mouse and cursor to hit a drum or cymbal, I’ll get both the sound and the visualization (of the drum or symbal being hit), but that doesn’t always happen when the song is playing…

Hopefully this makes sense. If not, I’ll try to describe another way: Typically, when I play a song in BandLab, if I look at the EZ Drummer 2 kit, I’ll can actually see that the kick pedal is striking the kick drum on the “1” and the “3” and I can see that the snare is being hit on the 2 and the 4. But then I’ll load another song, and these visualizations will not happen; the drum kit is motionless.

I am not able to figure out why this happens with some songs and not with others. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.
