Hello
Earlier today I purchased the EZ Drummer 2 upgrade for $89. Didn’t have a chance to download it til @ 8pm Eastern Time Zone. Had my IMac i7 (no problems, scanned it via MacKeeper) connected thru a router to high-speed internet. I clicked the Toontrack link provided by Sweetwater to DL the EZD2 upgrade. I first registered it, of course. Then the great disappointment: Download began and suddenly I realized it wouldn’t be finished for 4-5 days and 7 hrs…..the DL avg speed was @ 10-16KB/Sec….should be typically at least 65MB/Sec all the way to 126MB/Sec. Tried several times/restarted the DL, but all to no avail.
Now, I ran an online Download Speed Test on Toontrack’s Server/Site, said it was ok, but y’all had the server go down earlier today. At one point when I attempted to DL the files, a message appeared saying “Server Not Responding.”Any ideas you guys? I read on GearSlutz the Toontrack Server was back up and running ok later this afternoon after it went out. I also ran Download Speed Tests on my girlfriend’s Internet provider (ComSouth), but it said it was fine and up to speed. Then ran MacKeeper on my iMac to check things out..,,said everything was ok. I ran two online DL Speed tests on my iMac, said the download speed was 99% less than the average DL speed for my city, for my country, for my provider/etc/etc…. Ran a Ping Test as well, similar results….unbelievably slow DL speeds. I mean it, the thing would start counting away at, say, 2-3 days and slowly it rose to 4 days!!!!! I’m desperate here for some answers…it’s actually not so much the fact I shelled out $89 for a product I can’t even get to download correctly, hell…I been so excited, waiting for today to finally get here so I could get my hands on EZ Drummer 2…and hell, I can’t even get it to download!! Please help me Toontrack, I need ya rite now!!!
Oh yes, I tried straight-jacking into the phone jack, tried different CAT5 cables, bypassing the router….all the same, super-slow DL speeds! Help me please!
I apologize for your troubles downloading.
We use a Content Delivery Network (CDN) to distribute all our downloads. The same system as for example Microsoft and Blizzard use. So you are not actually downloading from our physical servers. Because of this, normally the downloads should be as fast as possible for all customers since it’s distributed all over the world. A copy should always be located for you to download on a server as close as possible to you. The only advice I can give you at this time is to try and download again and hopefully the speed should increase.

+1 to this. getting 700 kb/sec maximum, my location is Rome, Italy. It’s a shame I paid for something that I can’t comfortably download.
I downloaded just fine. It was at 1.2mega a second… I live in the US.
