Ive got a snare of 3 stacked snares and now I want all 3 to respond to high velocity hits, but for low velocity ghost notes, I only want the main snare to respond and the stacked snares to be silent.
To me it seemed logical to use the velocity gate, at least the explanation on the lable sounds like what Im looking for, but when I set the gate to cut off the 2 stacked snares on low velocity and give the main snare full range, I dont get any snare at all on lower velocity.
How can I let the main snare sound and keep the stacked snares silent on lower velocity notes?
Cheers!

You probably set the velocity gate for the stack. Select the individual snares in the stack and adjust the gate. You might also want to use the velocity curve as well, so that it doesn’t sound shocking when you transition from the ghost notes to the higher velocities (just a suggestion).

I checked if I might have overlooked that, but I saw I even turned the main snare’s velocity gate off. Just on a gut feeling I turned it on and tried again and now it works. I see that velocity gate needs to be active for all parts of the stack to make it work.
Good thing you made me look again. Thanks! 🙂
