Velocity changes on snare hits

Is there a way to change a group of snare hits to the same velocity in a group. For instance, can I highlight a group of snare hits with varying velocities and change them to a velocity that is the same. Kind of a pain doing it one note at a time

This would only be straight forward in a DAW or Superior Drummer.

By one note at a time, I assume you’re trimming each note out of the beat, loading it into Edit Play Style and adjusting just the single note’s velocity.

You could load the snare section of your beat into Edit Play Style and max the velocity. At that point, drag that midi file to your desktop out of EZD2. The 100% velocity is now written to ‘that’ file. Now re-import that file, open it into Tap2Find, now you can adjust the velocity to all snare hits equally since the original performance doesn’t exist anymore.

If the snare pattern you want to adjust is easy to replicate by tapping in Tap2Find (or song track window by recording). You could Tap it out there, bring that 100% velocity performance into Edit play style and adjust all snare hits equally at that point. Now you can just paste the newly adjusted snares into your pattern by making a cut at the insert point of the beat, right click>Paste>Snare.

That’s the best I can think of in a few minutes.

That helped a lot.

I can now highlight just the snare in certain sections & change all of the snare velocities to a certain fixed volume.

However what would be ideal if change all of the snare velocities w/i a section by a fixed percentage in order to maintain some sense of dynamics & articulation in the midi groove already established.

Is there a way to do that?  Hope that makes sense what I’m trying to do. Thanks!

If you need to do advanced drum editing on a regular basis, EZD2 stand alone is not the program. You should load EZD2 into any DAW and use the DAW’s Piano Roll to edit your EZD2 material, or crossgrade to Superior drummer 3.

This was not your original question. Does loading your beat into Edit Play Style, selecting the snare drum and adjusting the velocity knob not do this for you?
