It’s been a while since I used Mainstage, but have you enabled “Follow Host” in EZdrummer 2? Do you have to sync the timeline in EZdrummer 2 with any other virtual instruments in Mainstage? If not, try to disable Follow Host.

    Hey Henrik,

thanks for the reply. Yes, I do have follow host enabled as I’m using other synced channel strips, such as Ultrabeat and synced echos on another patch. But strange enough, with Follow Host disabled, EZ does the same thing.

EZdrummer 2 can only follow the host, or be kept in a loop. The combination you want isn’t possible, since it (probably) a pretty uncommon way to work. The idea behind the song track is that if you want some iterations of a song block, you should duplicate it, as many times as you want it to play.

If it’s important that it works the way you describe – can you have a loop in Mainstage and do the looping/remove loop area there? (I don’t remember how Mainstage looks exactly, maybe there isn’t even a time line there?)

Otherwise, I would suggest a DAW, maybe Live since it’s developed to support live performances.

It looks like I’m going to just have to go with building a song in EZ, switching patches in MS as the song progresses, and thereby triggering a new pattern/loop/song in the EZ module that would be a part of the MS patch. But thanks for the replies.
