    Hi,

I would guess that it is some access to a file location that is freezing in a system call, but we may be able to verify that if you create a “sample” of the frozen process and attach here. To do that, open Applications > Utilities > Activity Monitor, select the frozen EZD3 or SD3 process from the list, open the dropdown menu on the toolbar and select “Sample Process.”

    Thank you for your help.

Ok, I tried the  Sample Process and it kicked out a TXT file. What should I look for in the file?

Is it safe to share it in this forum? This does not go out to the public does it? I dont know what personal information might be on the TXT file.

I noticed that in the Settings/Libraries & Paths menu there is a function in the Advanced Tab to “Restore MIDI Database”.  Should I use that function?

I have sent a file request for the sample so that you can send it privately. It probably doesn’t contain anything sensitive though and only registered EZdrummer users can read this thread.

“Restore MIDI Database” is maybe safest to not use at this time – if it also freezes, it could make it impossible to see the Toontrack MIDI as well.

I sent the file via the link. Thank you for looking into this for me.

In that sample, the program does not look frozen, i.e., the main thread seems to be just waiting for events like it normally does, the audio thread is rendering as usual and the file scanning is going on. Maybe you need to wait longer until it really freezes (so that you for example can’t switch between different tabs)?
