Use Grid Editor as external MIDI editor

Hi,

I’d like to know if it is possible or planned to make the grid editor available as external MIDI editor? I prefer it to any MIDI editor for drums I used so far but unfortunately being able to only use it within the VSTi clashes with my workflow because I want to manage all my MIDI items in the DAW. I’d really love to use the the grid editor for my midi drums, any ideas?

By choosing the option to output midi from SD3 you can send that midi to any other virtual instrument, I pilot Native instrument and Modo Drums this way within Logic Pro.

I see, but it’s more the other way around. I’d like to manage and rearrange MIDI items in my DAW and then be able to open those MIDI items with the grid editor without copying/dragging stuff around.
