Use both brushes and sticks

I’d like to replicate this groove to some degree (let’s focus on the first few bars):

The drummer uses strong stick hits in one hand, and softer brush hits in the other hand. I have a kit  (Americana) that has brushes, but for the life of me I can’t seem to have regular hits and brushes at the same time. If I switch the Floor tom in this case to brushes, stick hits become impossible to add.

Am I missing something?

If this is not possible the easy way, can I just put samples of the regular Floor tom to the Rack tom for example (without mapping by hand all the different hit strengths and what not)?

You can only pick instruments that are listed in the box on the left

You could open another instance of EZDrummer
on a 2nd track with a different sample library.

It would be a hassle to program, but Scott’s idea is best for this.

Or use a particular EZX with two snare slots, though the sound may not be perfect.

In The Pocket EZX has 2 snares, which would allow you to assign one from another EZX with brushes, rods, hands, etc…

In a DAW, have two tracks each with EZD on it playing at the same time. That would be two instances.

Gospel also has 2 snare slots.
