Ok I finally caved in and upgraded ez drummer 2 because metal! couldn’t be installed in Ez drummer 1. A few Questions!
1) do i have to uninstall ez drummer 1 when i install ez drummer 2?
2) after installing ez drummer 2 w/Ez drummer 1 already installed previously.. i now have on my PC desktop the old toontrack solo 32 and a new EZ drummer icon.
Can i delete/uninstall the old toontrack solo 32 without any problems?
3) After SUCCESSFULLY installing METAL! EZX expansion and Metal machine EZX expansion in ez drummer 2. I noticed after opening up ez drummer 2, when i go to the top to change the entire drum kit i do see metal and metal machine.. (entire drum kit) BUT when I am using ez drummer 2 modern kit and want to change each individual drum kit .. for example i go to snare kit, toms, cymball etc.. all i see is metal machine… no metal! ? what’s going on?
4) when i open up a previous project where i used ez drummer 1( i usually multi out so each drum kit is on it’s own track) now when i open up the project.. only 3 tracks are used? and can i multi-out each individual drum kit to separate tracks in ez drummer 2?
5) after i decide the midi and the groove.. i want to move the midi from inside ez drummer 2 to the midi on the track like the way it was in ez drummer 1.. how do i do this?
PLEASE DON”T IGNORE my QUESTIONS>
I am waiting for your support and response.
thank you
1. No. If you want to continue to use the Pop/Rock kit that is in the library menu, you should leave EZdrummer 1 installed. There was a bug in the 1.4.0 32-bit update so please uninstall EZdrummer 1 plugin from the Windows Control panel and install the new 1.4.0 32-bit update. It may fix your question #3.
2. Toontrack Solo isn’t as necessary if you’re just using EZD2. If you have Superior Drummer 2, I would recommend leaving Solo installed.
3. What version numbers show on the EZD2 interface? What version number shows for Metal! EZX from Menu->Sound Libraries->Metal!
4. Yes. There are 16 outputs in EZD2 in the Mixer page.
5. You can drag and drop MIDI from the groove browser like in EZD1. Or you can drag MIDI to the EZD2 Song Track and drag from there to your DAW MIDI track.

would you mind Scott if we continue over the phone? It maybe speed everything up.E-mail correspondence is taking too long and i think this problem would be rectified quicker if we do this over the phone?
1) well i uninstalled everything toontrack from my PC 3 days ago and then redownloaded all the ez drummer/metal!/metal machine/ez drummer 2 updates etc from TOONTRACK.com just JUST Yesterday. Was the new 1.4.0 update today?
2) at this point .. i’m afraid to delete anything/or touch anything.. fear of causing further problems. how can i delete toontrack solo safely?
3) my ezd2 is version 2.0.2..METAL! version 1.5.2
4) How do i separate ezd2 so that each individual drum kit has it’s own individual track in reaper?
5) lastly.. let’s say if i have ez drummer 2 installed on my PC. if i installed the same ez drummer 2 a second time .. is that bad ?
lastly, if there is nothing that can be done.. can i put in an exchange from metal! ezx to made of metal instead?
i really want METAL!.. but it didn’t work for me on ez drummer 1 and now on ez drummer 2?
i didn’t want to get ez drummer 2. .. but i got it so i can get metal!ezx to work
thanks for your support
1. Yes. Our programmer found an error in the installer for the 32-bit EZdrummer 1.4.0. that prevented the Metal! EZX from installing properly. My guess, is that since you still have EZdrummer 1 installed and are using the Pop/Rock kit, if you uninstall EZD1 and install this latest 32-bit 1.4.0 update, the Metal! EZX should install properly. I’m going to forward this thread to the programmer and see what he says.
2. You can uninstall Solo from the Windows Program and Features section in the Control Panel.
3. That’s up to date.
4. When you load EZD2 in Reaper using Track->Insert virtual instrument on new track, you can select to create 16 stereo tracks in Reaper. Then, you can route channels in the EZD2 mixer to those outputs. Each mixer channel has it’s own output selection.
5. I’m not sure I understand. Are you saying just running the installer again? I would recommend uninstalling from the above mentioned Windows Program and Features in the Control Panel before installing again.
I would imagine that Toontrack would allow you to exchange to a different EZX. I don’t know for a fact as that’s not my department.

1) ok.. so what should i do? uninstall ez drummer 1 or just the update? wouldn’t that interfere with the ez drummer 2 install? or
if i uninstall all toontrack products from my PC again and re-download everything again? kinda going in circles here don’t you think.. my time wasted for the last 2 days nuthing but install/download/uninstall/download/wait for response/ go back etc
5) i mean let’s say i download ez drummer from toontrack .. i install it on my PC . and then right away install the exact same program again and again and again.. what problems will arise?
how do i contact TOONTRACK exactly?
Like I said before, just today, after I reported your issue to our programmer, there was found a problem with the EZD 1 32-bit 1.4.0 updater and it was updated. I relayed in your other thread to uninstall EZD 1 from the Windows Program and Features section in the Control Panel and download the 1.4.0 updater again and apply it.
If you’d like to contact Toontrack directly, please use this FAQ:

so just uninstall ezd1 1.40 and download the new ezd 1.40 updater and install that? what about ez drummer 1 2.3.0 and ez drummer 2? do i leave those installed?
also please answer my previous question.. can i install the same program again an again w/o any problems?
also why do i have to uninstall ezd 1.. wouldn’t installing the update be ok?
ok now i deleted ez drummer 1 and downloaded the update .. and when i install the update the update tells me i need ez drummer 1 to install it..whats going on?
alright i’m gonna delete everything again… do a complete clean install. delete all toontrack stuff from my PC. now when i reinstall everything do i need to install ez drummer 1 again or just ez drummer 2?
Hi,
if you clean install, you do not need to install EZdrummer 1, since you have the Pop/Rock EZX available as a separate product in your Toontrack account.
Install the Full EZdrummer 2 Product and the updates. Then your Full Product EZX:s and their updates.

There seems to be an issue with the Metal! EZX update. I will let you know what to do when they relay the steps to me.

The full ez drummer 2 product? I upgraded from ezd1 to ezd2…is the previous downloaded ezd2 the full ez drummer 2? When I install everything… I’m not going to install metal!… I have request in an email for toontrack to exchange it to made of metal!… This metal ezx has caused me 5 days of sleepless nights and money and time.. Please forward this to toontrack
Ok.. an entire day has passed and not a response? What is the next course of action?
also when i get the upgrade code to download ezd2.. is that the full ez drummer 2 product?
I thought you contacted Toontrack support directly? If they are handling things, it best to keep correspondence though them.

I did not know that you didn’t contact them as you said you were going to do. I thought you wanted to ask for an exchange of the Metal! EZX. You said you weren’t going to install the Metal! EZX again.
So, to answer your question, yes, the upgrade version is the full version. The latest update is 2.0.2.
In addition, if you’d like to install the Metal! EZX, there is a Sound library update that was just added today available from your Toontrack account that fixes the issue you were having with the metal EZX kit pieces not being selectable in the kit piece menu.
