Hi everyone, as per the title, I updated EZDrummer recently, and now it’s not working in my DAW at all (Reaper).
I just purchased the Dream Pop EZX and was required to update the EZDrummer software in order to use it. But now whenever I’m loading the VST into Reaper it’s auto-crashing. Even projects the previously used EZdrummer 2 just fine, the VST is crashing immediately.
I’m assuming that I need to replace the DLL file in the file path that my DAW uses, but I don’t know where to find the DLL file for the newly updated version. Any help is appreciated, thank you very much!
If the original .dll wasn’t moved from where it was installed, the update should just overwrite the original. If it was moved and you now have more than one, do a Windows search for ezdrummer.dll and manually delete them.
Next, run the latest update and pay attention to when it gets installed. Set the path in Reaper to that location.

I figured it out, thank you very much! I recently changed where I store my VSTs but for some reason (this is my first time using product manager), Product Manager didn’t give me a file path when it installed the update, so I figured it just overwrote the old .dll.
Turns out, it just made a new one at the old location, and Reaper was trying to use the un-updated .dll.
So, basically it was as you said (although I managed to figure it out before I saw this by checking the file path in the stand-alone version, for anyone else who may run into this issue).
Thanks for your reply, Scott!
I think in the future, I’ll just be using the regular web downloading methods, since you seem to have more control over everything than with product manager.
