    Hi,

what happens if you use the uninstaller included in the 1.3.1 update?
Do not select to uninstall the sounds, just the plugin(s) and then re-run the 1.3.1 update.

    BR,
    John

That didn’t work. I had to reinstall from the DVD to get the VST back.

Which exact Mountain Lion version are you on?
Are you running the Administrator account?
If you check the Info for the ‘Library/Application Support/EZdrummer’ folder, does it say that only ‘System’ has Read/Write rights or ‘System’ and ‘Admin’?

I’m running 10.8.2. I just looked at that folder and it says system and admin have “Read & Write”. Everyone has “Read Only”.

Administrator account. I’m running the only account on the system. I’m prompted for my password when I try to update.

I noticed the progress bar gets to “validating package” just before the install failed message appears (FWIW).

what exact message are you receiving? please note in any case that EZdrummer is not yet validated for Mac OS 10.8, an update will be available shortly, and only that update will be considered supported on 10.8.1 or above.

The Installation Failed. The installer encountered an error that caused the installation to fail. Contact the software manufacturer for assistance.

At the top of the dialog, it reads: There were errors with the installation. You may want to try installing again.

OK, but you mentioned something about copyfiles, was that happening with the update or full product installer? anyway, if 1.3.0 works for you then I recommend you remain at that level until the next EZdrummer update is available. If that version fails to update your installation as well we will look into it in more details.

When I first attempted the updated, I got a message about “copyfiles” not having permission. I granted permission but the install failed. I remember seeing this dialog more than once as I re-tried the update. At some point, I *believe* I clicked a checkbox on the copyfiles dialog that said something like do not ask again. Since then, I haven’t seen the message. Just FYI, the “cocktail” update installed without a hitch.

Please try to update to the new version, version 1.3.2, released today. I’ll watch this topic for any further problems at your end, and if so we’ll look into the possible cause (which might not be related to you running 10.8).

    It worked flawlessly. Thank you.
