unwanted toms hits when playing E-kit snare with EZDrummer

This problem that i have is ONLY happening when i am using EZDRUMMER!!!

I use a Yamaha dtx522 electronic drum kit, connected by usb-midi cable to my computer(windows 10)
My DAW is CUBASE ARTIST 9.
I use my e-kit with ezdrummer, and the problem that i get is this!!
When i am playing my kit within cubase, on the odd occasion when playing the snare drum(pad) i get a TOM hit
at the same time AS A SNARE HIT, even though i am HITTING THE SNARE!!. This does not happen all the time. it is completely random. Sometimes i get the tom hit on successive hits
on the snare drum pad and then sometimes it will happen totally random, once in a while.
I have to admit i have had no luck trying to find out why this is happening?
I have checked to see if there is a problem with the midi mapping etc but that seems fine?
This only happens with EZDRUMMER? i also have SUPERIOR DRUMMER 3 which works fine!!!!!
