Hi,
I am using SD 3 (in Reaper) and a Roland TD-11 kit. Some closed hi hat hits or chicks sound open.
I have tried to replicate this in EZ drummer 2 as well and it does the same thing. I have tried creating a new midi item and entering just a hi hat chick with the mouse (not using the Roland kit), and there is the same issue again! See video: https://photos.app.goo.gl/w88rQTXh1nwNU8td9
So It doesn’t seem to come from the Roland module but it is common to both Toontrack programs. When I disable the “open pedal” articulation in SD3 the issue disappears.
Is there a way to get rid of the problem without having to disable the articulation?

Ok so now the problem occurs even though I have disabled the “open pedal” articulation… I need to finish editing a project for a client and I’m stuck with this, it is very frustrating.

Check your CC for the hi-hat. If it’s beyond a certain threshold, that particular articulation will play an open pedal.

@Bear-Faced Cow you mean the velocity?
@MintberryCrunch Yes I had seen your post about this, thank you. I don’t believe this applies to me since I get the issue whether I use my Roland kit or just enter notes in a new midi item with my mouse. Am I right?

I’m referring to the MIDI CC for the hi-hat. (either CC1 or CC4).
Velocity is not a factor in this case.

There is only one issue. Completely filter out CC data and you won’t get open pedal sounds ;).
