Hello everyone,
I purchased EZ Drummer 3 two days ago and everything seemed to be fine.
I’m having problems using (no matter if from Cubase 10, Logic Pro X: same problem) ezdrummer 3 with an external midi keyboard (I have three and it doesn’t depend on the keyboard itself).
I had already noticed that some cymbals in the set are stopped.
I am referring to the “normal” cymbals that until recently worked normally.
Now I realize that when I trig a cymbal, if I press a little harder on the keyboard key, it stops, as if it emulates the drummer’s hand which stops the sound of the cymbal.
In practice, aftertouch controls the sustain of the cymbal (!bad idea).
If at first glance it may seem like a good idea to some, to me it seems like an unintelligent idea: men when I’m playing a drum piece with the keyboard I don’t want to have to pay attention to how hard I press the cymbal key.
I hope this is an option that can be deactivated
Any help will be appreciated.
Which exact note/number are you triggering? If you’re triggering Cymbal Mute, it’s chokes fast at 100% velocity. Might be a simple mapping issue. The Help Menu can tell you all correct mappings at once to confirm.

Thanked by: Francesco RossiOkay. I think I found the answer to the problem here:

However, I would have preferred to be able to disable this function from the software and not leave the uncertainty of the type of midi hardware for this purpose.
The EZ drummer is a very nice drum but this flaw makes it lose many points and I hope the developers realize this nonsense.
It’s not a flaw nor nonsense. This is precisely how AT is supposed to work: controlling the length of the sustain by grabbing the cymbal and choking the sound. It works as it should with either MIDI pad controllers and edrums. If you want the AT messages from your keyboard to be ignored because it appears that you using a technique referred to as karate chopping the keyboard, either have your DAW filter it out or disable it on your controller. Or get a MIDI pad controller which you can control it as well as adjust the sensitivity of the pads.

When you catch AT events with chopsticks, you will be ready.

this is the definitive solution
