Hi! To start on a positive note, Big Rock Drums are delicious! I’m a huge fan of blending some EZX samples with live drums or other third party samples, and as soon as I heard Big Rock Drums I was immediately conquered by the richness of the tones.
However, after buying, installing and loading this expansion pack, I was extremely upset by a massive problem that makes it impossible to use these drums in conjunction with others (either live or sampled). It almost seems like the samples have been cut way too early and have pre-delay, which varies from hit to hit (no chance to move them manually and thus phase align).
Please take a look at the video (it’s only 7mb, and describes the situation well):

The project you see contains: [1] Midi track with notes, [2] A render of EZX Made of Metal, [3] EZX Metal Machine, [4] EZX Modern, [5] EZX Big Rock Drums, [6] another render of the same exact Big Rock Drums preset to see if the latency is random or not.
At this point, after rendering two tracks of Big Rock Drums, I checked them for phasing and they canceled out perfectly, 100%, complete silence. I realized that EZX engine stops and rewinds to “sample1”, thus when I render, it’s the same humanized sequence of samples. So I rendered another track, this time from the middle of the bar, [7] EZX Big Rock Drums “engine trick”. And at this time while flipping phase it’s a flam city! A good half of the hits don’t align at all. I tried everything: “Original” multitrack preset and pre-processed presets (Which are gorgeous!), disabling humanization in the Ezdrummer engine, etc etc. I’m afraid it doesn’t solve the problem.
To make it even clearer, I prepared an audio multitrack that you can download and import into your DAW. Play around with phases to feel what I feel:)

To see and hear the initial transients well, I turned off overhead and room mics, so it’s just kick and snare everywhere. Tracks are named, so I hope it will be easy to see what I’m talking about.
Please let me know if this can be fixed! I’m ready to manually slice all the samples myself if it speeds up solving of the process!:)
Kindest regards,
Max
