You can undo/redo changes on the track by clicking “un”- and “re”-buttons in top left corner of the track in EZd2.

In older versions of Logic, undoing using Cmd + Z would delete the track (since undo will undo the last thing done in Logic; add an instrument track), and Redo command didn’t restore it.
In later updates, Redo will bring back the instruments as they were before the Undo.
It may be the same scenario in Garageband; newer versions allows you to Redo to restore the track.
