Hi
I dont know whats up with the Toontrack manager, but I went to update some things recently and suddenly a LOT of my previously working files and products from Toontrack were working fine – all properly installed. But now, something is different. I am attaching a screenshot of the manager. You can see the EZ Drummer line and regardless if its “install” or “download” once I click the button to perform the function and it even says “complete” the status of the button doesnt change. I have verified the designated folder location and nothing changes.
This issue is happening with ALL my midi packs that also once were working. Please see a partial screen shot of them. The status doesnt change after completing the download AND/OR install.
I dont know how to proceed. I am on a Mac 10.12.6 and i changed no other parameters in my system.
Thanks so much for any help.
Shawn
Hey Shawn what I had to do was literally rest my Mac to factory reset but I backed up my music files for whatever reason Toontrack won’t recognize your Mac, I had the same problem and after I reset it everything installed like it was supposed to. If you know any other way plylet me know.
Hey Jeff
Thanks for the reply! Appreciate it. Im not sure what you mean by resetting the Mac. Can you explain?
Shawn
Could you select “Details” on Product Manager of one of the EZXs you know you have installed and post it up here.
Also, when you run EZDrummer 2 standalone or as a plug-in does it find the EZXs?

Check this out. It seems like some of the folders are a mess. First is the pic of Superior drummer 2. Then I added an overview snap shot of a random midi file floating outside of the main folders.
What a colossal pain in the ass this is. The funny thing is I made no settings changes.
I appreciate your help.

What is the download path for Product Manager?
Weird that the Toontrack library is _TOONTRACK (with an underscore)
Anyway one thing at a time….
Go into the Product Manager Preferences and see what the download location is.

Hey Brad
Appreciate your help.
OK. The path is one I set on one of my HD’s not the main OS drive of the system. I have had it like this for a while and I did it due to the large size of all the Toontrack libraries. I added the underscore so it would be at the top. Do you think the underscore matters? See attached.
Shawn
Ok, no I don’t see the underscore being a problem if it’s something you have done, however having the download location the same as your sample library location may cause serious issues with your installation. So I would start by changing it to something else. Then shut PM down, then move all the .dmg (install files) to that new location, then start PM back up and see what the state of things are.

Hey Brad
Sorry about the slow reply. Here is a screenshot of my top level drive (my Mac HD) where you can see my Toontrack top level folder resides. This, if I am not mistaken, is where the apps for Toontrack are stored. I then directed my actual sample libraries to be on another drive (the one on an external HB that you saw with the underscore) I dont have them all in that HD folder due to the size (over a terabyte of samples.) What do you suggest?
Shawn
The applications are where they are supposed to be, that’s where mine are, truthfully I believe the apps are like wrappers for the VST versions of the plug-ins, which are stored under; <HD>/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/VST
That’s all fine.
Is your download location and your sample library location the same?
If so that could be a problem. Having those 2 folders the same may cause issues.
For example, this is exactly how my setup is;
In PM my download location is; <SSD Utility>/Toontrack/Product Manager
My sample libraries are located in; <SSD Sample1>/Toontrack
My suggestion is to change your Download Location in PM to something other than where your sample library is located.
That’s if I am looking at your screen shots properly.
So keep your sample library where it is and create and change the download location (in PM) to something like Sample Library 2/Toontrack/PM
Your download location and sample library are 2 separate things, the download location is where PM downloads products and update *.dmg files.
You install FROM the download location (for example: Sample Library 2/Toontrack/PM) TO the sample library (Sample Library 2/_TOONTRACK) but you don’t want them to be the same. Hope I am making some sense.

Thanked by: Shawn PattersonI think I get what you are saying. Currently they are in two separate locations and have been. I mean… I can select a different drive and move everything over (sample library wise – separate from the main brains of the instrument…) but I dont see how that will matter since I am recreating the same layout – just on a different drive.
Any thoughts?
Shawn
Samples can stay where they are, plug-ins can stay where they are. Only change the download location. This will separate Product Manager’s downloads from your sample library.

Ok Shawn you literally have rest your Mac , like Factory rest meaning erasing everything and starting over, but back up whichever files that cannot be restored via cloud to external hard drive, so like all your plugins third party sounds, songs, and tracks

Thanked by: Shawn PattersonHey
I am not interested in resetting my Mac just yet. I’m trying to solve this in other ways IF I can first. Check this screen shot – something I noticed the other day. My mac OS is 10.12.6 if you see the pic, EZ drummer is NOT compatible with my OS – it says its only compatible with 10.4 – 10.9
So I am thinking that is an issue with why some of my libraries got suddenly jacked up. Anyone else having this issue?
