Hello! So far ezBass has been, well.. Easy! Great sound and intuitive workflow. The one thing that I haven’t been able to do – which would really improve my workflow – is to drag and drop a MIDI event directly from a Studio One track (e.g. piano track) into ezBass to recognize the chords. Right now, it doesn’t accept it. A a workaround, I have to export the event as a MIDI file onto my desktop and then drag it into ezBass. Being able to drag it directly would be so much easier. Perhaps a consideration for a future update?
Do Studio One allow drag and drop of MIDI files out from it? One way to test it is to drag a midi section to your desktop. If it works, EZbass will support it. If it doesn’t, unfortunately there’s nothing we can do about it, since the DAW simply don’t support that. In those cases, you have to export the MIDI and import into EZbass.

With Studio One, I just play the midi track and hit the record button in EzKeys. I am assuming you could do the same with EzBass. Going to try it.

Thanked by: jmmykid67I can’t drag an audio file from Studio One directly into EZBass either. Haven’t tried the export then re-drag to the interface yet. Would be awesome to be able to do this from within the DAW.
EZKeys, SSD4.0ex, Roland D20 as controller, Sonar X2
Would that work for EZ Drummer tracks? When I try to drag those from EZ Drummer into EZBass it recognizes it for a brief second then Studio One crashes.
Unsure, I haven’t had a chance to test it with EZdrummer or SD3.

EZbass version: 1.0.2
Operating system: Windows 10
Does it also crash when you run both of them standalone (i.e. run EZbass standalone and EZkeys/EZdrummer standalone and drag files between them)?
I made a reply in this thread with the drag and drop from Studio One problem:

I’m having the same issue within Logic Pro X. I cannot drag and drop midi or audio files.

Thanked by: Sonic Scientist and J-NewI’m having the same issue within Logic Pro X. I cannot drag and drop midi or audio files.
EZbass version: 1.0.4
Operating system: macOS Mojave (10.14)
This is because Logic doesn’t support drag and drop from Logic to other places (such as to EZbass), and there’s nothing we can do about it unfortunately.
But you can drag and drop MIDI straight from EZdrummer2, Superior Drummer 2 & 3, and EZkeys.
If you want to get audio from Logic to EZbass (for tracking), you can use the Audio Sender plugin – which is included when buying EZbass.

Thanked by: J-NewI have S1 also. I have found that you can’t drag/drop any midi from the DAW into any EZ product. I have to save and import.

Thanked by: J-New and AlexHogansonMan you guys should have figured this out before releasing the product. Can’t be too hard to contact all the daw manufacturers and work something out.

Thanked by: J-NewHi DenverRocker,
this is unfortunately not something that is trivial and limited to Toontrack plug-ins, practically all DAWs restricts drag-and-drop from DAW to plug-in, so the DAW manufacturers would need to re-program their software to allow for such an operation. Granted, it would be intuitive and helpful when creating but I recall an Avid software engineer reply once that it would never happen since that would open loopholes in their software that potentially could lead to crashes, etc. Nevertheless a few DAWs (2?) do allow for it.
There are workarounds for avoiding export/import like recording MIDI from the DAW directly onto the Toontrack plug-in’s Song Track and now there is the Toontrack Audio Sender plug-in for sending Audio from the DAW to the plug-in.

Ditto….I have EzBass downloaded and working and have the EzBass Audio Sender in my AU but it is not sending. I followed the instructions to get it to send but “Audio 1” is not in EzBass “Audio Tracker” tab. I didn’t see a tutorial for how to set this up in the “Help” section of EzBass. It seems like I should be able to play a Drum in Logic and have it recorded in EzBass so I can set a bass line, but it is not working, help?

Is the Audio Sender saying that is has connected to EZbass?
Is the Track Tab saying that the Sender is connected?
Side note – EZbass needs to be inserted as a plugin in the same project as the Audio Sender, i.e. you can’t send things to the Standalone version of EZbass.

You can drag midi files from the Studio One browser to a toontrack product. I do that or put midi on the track and hit record in ezbass and play in Studio one and record into ez bass
