I purchased a recording computer that already had Superior drummer on it. I uploaded all my midi packs onto the computer, even the ones that were already on there, like Roots, just to have all of my kits on my folders. Now I am getting a “Duality” login message. I entered my email and password for Toontrack but it says its incorrect. My guess is it wants the login from the previous computer owner. Now I am getting a “audio engine” issue and Superior Drummer makes no sound. Do I have to uninstall all of the Toontrack entirely and then reinstall mine back on it? I dread that because it took me a few hours to do that. Please let me know how to solve this issue when you can, thank you.

Something I learned a long time ago was to keep all my downloads on a separate drive so if/when I need to reinstall stuff I have it at hand. Nothing fancy needed for such a drive – a 7200 rpm spinner of sufficient size will do the job. I’d go for a 4TB external drive. High performance isn’t necessary for this job. Watch as many YouTube videos on Windows reinstall that you can. And be patient – don’t try and do everything in one day. What I would do is the Windows reinstall first and make sure that all runs as it should. Then the Apollo drivers and see if you get audio from any YouTube video – that will tell you that you got that right (and don’t forget to disable any on-board audio interface that may be on the motherboard). After you get that working then go onto Cakewalk, then SD3, etc. But again – one thing at a time. Install and test before moving on to the next install. And reboot from time to time.
I feel your pain about doing this on a relatively new computer.
