Hi,
I’ve just bought and installed ezdrummer 2 on my win7 laptop to build myself an edrum with a ddrum ddti trigger module.
After playing around with the ezdrummer options to change all the different types of snares, toms and cymbals and so on, I wonder if it’s possible to change one of the crash cymbals into a second ride? Or one of the two floor toms into a second snare?
Thanks for your help
The positions in EZd2 are designed to load similar instruments from other expansions. This means that the snare position in EZdrummer 2 Modern library can only load snares, etc.
If you want to have multiple snares, rides, etc., you’ll need to load another instance of EZdrummer 2 in a DAW, and make some MIDI mapping so the instruments gets different MIDI notes.
In the big brother Superior Drummer 3, you do all of these changed directly.

Floor toms can be changed into rack toms and vice versa. Probably because these are all toms. That’s why I thought a crash cymbal could be changed into a ride cymbal – because these are all cymbals. Is there any expansion that offers two rides or two snares in ezdrummer 2?

Thanked by: russellme and geodanjust want to second the opinion that ride/crash assignments should be treated like toms options are. Thereby allowing two ride cymbal capability.
If there is a official way to lobby for this I’d be interested to know.

Thanked by: russellmeanother option is to load the audio of a cymbal – although it might not be per articulation – from another source. so if you only need a tip on ride (e.g. a 24″) and you have the audio of a 24″ tip played ride, then you could add that audio for that cymbal.

and another option (i have only the core w/ 3 sets) but if you have your set selected, then in cymbal selection, pick another set, you might have an option which is “close enough” for that cymbal to be a “ride”. in attached i have the “main room” set selected but in the cymbal for crash4 i have the bright room selected and picked the 24″ paiste with the bow articulation and it sounds close to an open ringing ride.
but yes – they should have it similar to the toms – any cymbal in any cymbal position.
