So i currently have a song already made and was wanting to use it as proper test run as i have been playing about with groove editer, ezdrummer and my 7 string guitar. However when i then went to use a song i had aleady wrote in drop C# the bass is skipping out the Low C# notes.. there are 3 tuning options available however i find this doesnt work for drop tunings… can someone assist me on how to get it to sound like a drop c tuned bass rather than it skipping the open notes? Toontrack i have ez keys, ez drummer and ez mix but i feel this is a bit of a let down that we cant individually tune strings for us to use pre exisiting midi files. ez drummer allows drag and drop midis straight out of guitar pro or from your daw so why cant ez bass do same?
Hey jordo901,
Tuning a MIDI instrument is for visual feedback only (same as a staff wouldn’t display notes differently); the notes are the same however the instrument is tuned. The tuning controls in EZbass sets how the sound associated with a given note plays back. It does not change the playable range of the instrument.
See the thread below on Guitar Pro. Basically, you need to transpose your Guitar Pro bass MIDI one octave up before exporting.

As for the drum MIDI working has to do with both sharing mapping through general MIDI, which provides a standard for mapping common percussion instruments and articulations. EZdrummer being a dedicated drum sampler contains more articulations outside of the GM standard, but it can still play common GM drums.
