Trying to replicate a Lenny Kravitz’s drum sound

I have Superior Drummer 3 and I’ve been chasing this drum sound for two weeks now and I haven’t come close. I know it has to do with gear and all that but I just want to get in the ball park. Can someone help a brutha out? Any suggestion?

Again I know I can’t fully duplicate it I’m just trying to come close. Get that vibe. Especially the snare.  Halla back.

What might help is to track down who Lenny had on drums and see what they used. He’s used a number of different drummers. It’s a dry sound as far as I can tell.

It’s pretty much a Ludwig type of sound. Could be the Supraphonicc or Black Beauty. Try them with a close ambience tucked underneath to bring them out along with a bit of 1176 to bring out the attack.
