I have my Roland TD-4 Electronic drum kit set up through EZ Drummer 2 on my Windows 7 PC. I am using the ASIO4ALL driver for this which I need to have for good playback. I would like to be able to play music in the background (Mp3s, Wave, YouTube, etc.) so I can play along to songs on the drums. With ASIO it will not play any other source other than from EZ Drummer. I researched this and was told I could make my driver ASIO for all sources on my PC. I tried messing with this and could not get anything to work. I am not sure if EZ Drummer just won’t allow another source at the same time. Here is an idea I have and if you think it could work please let me know.
I was wondering if I were to use a headphone splitter, could I have a song from YouTube playing on my smart phone with a basic line in cable from that going to one side of the splitter and then have the other side of the splitter going into the PC for EZ Drummer?
Would buying an actual sound midi module allow this?
If there is no way that would work, does anyone have any ideas? Thanks.
Hi,
from what I can understand, the problem is that ASIO4All isn’t multi-client. I searched and found this:

The info found in here and the links should get you going in the right direction.

Hi, I am having the exact same issue today – i see this post is 5 years old, did you find a solution? I followed the link to the forum that John posted and came up short. Would love to know whether a solution has been found to this in some form or other?
Thanks
Dominic
