Hm, that sounds strange. Can you save the EZdrummer 2 project and post it here so we can have a look at it?

Try to go into edit play style of the right Song Block, right click the Hi-hat and copy the midi notes. Click the left song block, right click the hi-hat and paste. Does that work as intended?

I’m trying to attach the EZDP to this message but it’s saying file type not allowed. Is there some other way to do that, or some other way I could get that to you?

Your suggestion of copying midi thru play style does work as intended. Fairly inconvenient, though, to have to drag the song block into the track area to get the part I want out of it. Particularly if I have parts arranged already.

Otherwise, same issue continues to happen, and also happens if I just try to copy from loop in browser.

Strange, it should work to post ezdrummer project files here (.ezdp files), it might be a bug in the forum system we’ll fix.

In the meantime, you can zip the file and then post it here!

Here you go. This isn’t the same project as the original one from previous message but the same thing is happening.

And I was able to upload EZDP this time, as you’ll see.

So you right click the right “Hi-Hat Open 2” block and click “Copy”. Then right click the left “Snare Center” block and click “Paste/Hi-Hat”.

This makes only the hi-hat play on left block? It works as intended for me, the left block keeps the original groove, but adds the hi-hat.

Are you using the latest version of EZdrummer 2? The easiest way to manage that is to use the Product Manager.

I am using latest version, I just made sure of that a day or two ago. The same issue keeps happening, in both stand alone, and as a plug in in pro tools.

I did a video screen grab of my computer showing what I’m doing. The videos are too big to upload here but I’ve created a link in dropbox to them.

Are you able to view those? (There’s no audio in the pro tools video but you can still see what is happening.)

ah ok, now I follow your work path!

If you instead of going to the menu and choose “Paste”, right click the target MIDI block, and select “Paste” from the the popup menu instead.

There’s a difference in how Paste works, the menu vs. directly right clicking on a block and choosing Paste in that menu. I understand that you can misunderstand this, because there’s no design that tells you how it works. I will add this as a feature request – to make it easier for users to understand what the different Paste options does!

Ok, the right click thing does work so that’s solved. Thank you.

But yeah, the fact the drop down option doesn’t work is a major source of frustration. I think even in the tutorial videos I watched they used the drop down. Maybe not. Anyway, again, thank you. I can now get to work on the new song.
