The Computer ID will be displayed in the first time you load EZdrummer in your host DAW (Pro Tools, Cubase, Reaper, etc.) It will look similar to this (the below pic is for Superior Drummer authorization):

thanks, why would there be a request for it and a field to type it in if i hadn’t even installed it yet?

i’m trying to install it now and i’m getting this error:

    error 1309.error reading from file:
    c:users”name”appdatalocaltemptemp1.tt106 ez drummer-win.ziptt106wintt106 ezdinstallprogram filestoontrackezdrummer…ez core.pdf.

    what does this mean?
    thanks

It seems you are trying to install from the Zip file directly. Please extract the content fully before running the installer.
If it doesn’t work on the Desktop, please try extracting closer to the hard drive root.

i “extracted all” and then opened the installshield wizard last night and received that error while the files were being copied. however, i just tried the same that didn’t work last night, and it went though without an error this time. i also installed the ezx cocktail without any problems. should i now download/install the update?

so far this has been an extremely confusing and complicated installation. few things if any have gone smoothly and i still can’t find ez drummer inside my daw.

i really hope using ez drummer is a lot easier than downloading and installing it.

And what DAW is that? Please fill in your system specs on your member profile page.

i apologize for my comment about the ez drummer installation, but i’ve been trying to get this up and running for about 8 hrs. i’m beginning to lose some patience.

    sorry/thanks,

    OK.

Have you installed the EZD update (1.2.1)? If not, please install the 64-bit version of EZD (1.2.1). Make sure you set the path to that 64-bit version from inside Sonar. You can verify you are using the 64-bit version by checking the EZD interface and it should show ‘(64-bit)’ next to the version number in the lower right of the GUI.

both the 32 and 64 bit updates were installed as instructed.
i do not know how to set the path to ez drummer x64 from within sonar.
i cannot find ez drummer to even open it, so i can’t look at the gui.
i re-scanned the vsti’s from the plugin mngr and still can’t see it.

    thanks

i looked for it at this destination:
    c:/programs/cakewalk/vstplugins

but there was no toontrack content there.

I don’t use Sonar but I just downloaded the X1 manual. From the manual:

To add a folder to scan

    1. Go to Edit > Preferences > File – VST Settings.
    2. Under VST Scan Folder(s), click the Add button to open the Browser for Folder dialog.
    3. Choose the folder you want to add, and click OK.
    4. Repeat steps 1 and 2 to add any additional folders you might want to scan.
The new folders appear in the VST Scan Folder(s) list, along with any folders that were already in the list.

So, do the above and set the path to where you install the 64-bit EZdrummer.

Do a search in Windows for ‘ezdrummer.dll’ and take note of the locations.

it appears that i can’t open a .dll file without a certain program to do it.

there is not a default location that vst goes to?

how else can i find it?
    thanks.
