Hi everyone,
First-time poster here. I’m hoping someone can help me demystify how fret buzz and string noise are triggered in EZbass. I’m currently using the Modern bass from the main library (DI signal, Finger style), and I’m running into an issue where string noise seems to appear inconsistently, even when keeping my velocities conservative (max 100).
I’ll hear a “buzzy” note and immediately try to fix it by lowering the velocity. Initially, this seems to work—the buzz disappears. However, when I restart playback (especially when starting from a different bar), the buzz often reappears on that same note, or randomly appears on other notes that were previously clean, or in places where it wasn’t before!
It feels like there is a randomizer or Round Robin cycle interacting with velocity that determines when these artifacts trigger.
My questions are:
-
Is there a way to identify exactly what is triggering these noises?
-
Is there a setting to “cap” or disable these specific fret noise samples without losing the overall character of the performance?
It’s a bit of a bummer because the instrument(s) sounds incredible otherwise, but the unpredictability makes it hard to polish the track. Any insight would be greatly appreciated!
