EZD2 does not receive controller midi while in Pro Tools. Pro Tools now needs to recognize your midi and pass it to EZD2. If you didn’t yet realize that, check out my screen shots… and then engage your channel’s record button. Good luck!

    Thanks for the quick reply.

Still not quite there but I know we are close!

No matter what I choose under the tab midi controllers I get unable to communicate.

Is there anything that should be adding under synchronization or Machine controller?

For me and my hardware… Select HUI in Midi Controllers Tab. Receive From field>Predefined> “Name of your hardware”.

    I truly appreciate the help.

I’m still getting this error no matter what I do…..

    unable to communicate.

Haven’t used this in a long time. I’m remembering what a pain in the butt it was to set up the first time…

I should have kept notes lol

That is a common error. I’d just be echoing Google results at this point. You’re probably not going to get particular third party support here unless you luck out, which is possible. You should hop over to Akai for support either with a ticket, or their forum. I believe if you sign up for an account at their site, you can check out their forum, but you can’t lurk there in the meantime. I’d put my energy there is you’re done troubleshooting yourself, or maybe the vdrums.com guys. They’re pretty elite. When you solve you should come back and post, maybe it will help someone else out in the future. Good luck!
