Transferring User Tweaks To 2nd Computer

I share .sd3 files between two computers that also share the same SDXs (done though remote mounting drives/folders on macOS).  This works well and allows me to keep my SD3 project edits (midi mappings, kit tweaks, track midi edits, etc) in-sync between the two machines.

I point the user data on all of my computers to a cloud directory. That way all of my presets are shared between them. You can set the directory in your preferences.

Both yours and pumpkinking sound like great solutions. Thank you both.

In Settings > Libraires/Paths I have located “User Presets” and its file path:

    C:\Users\\Documents\Toontrack\Superior3

Is it correct in assuming this is where all my Toontrack tweaks per project are stored? If so, could I copy the directory over to the 2nd computer? (As a dirty fix since I’m up against the clock for a trip).

    Appreciate the help!

I’m not sure if these are tweaks “per project” as much as saved user presets for a given component that would be selectable within a project.  I’m def not the expert but it seems like copying that over in addition to your project .sd3 files would work.

    Hi,

if you are uncertain which folder contains which presets, you can always click ‘Manage in Explorer’ in a Preset Menu, e.g. Library Presets, Mixer Channel Presets or Instrument Presets.

These can indeed be copied to another computer, follow ing the same principle; click ‘Manage in Explorer’ on the new computer and transfer your presets to the folder that opens up. Needless to say, a Mixer channel preset will not work if copied to a Library preset folder, etc.

Project files, i.e. ‘.sd3p’ filess can reside anywhere since they can be opened from the File Menu.

    BR,
    John
