Is it possible for the Sound Recognition feature in Tracker to identify other sounds besides the ones listed?
For example, I am interested in converting some Shakers and Cow Bells from Audio to Midi using Tracker, I am able to change the sound of the Cymbal (see below)
However, I am unable to convert the Cymbal to Shaker, I would like for the audio recognition to be looking for shakers. For example, see below
Is this possible? How can we add instruments to the sound recognition list?
Does this list of Sound Recognizable instruments increase as we purchase the Superior Drummer Expansions?
Thank you in advance
Dodo
I’m guessing the tracker would need new algorithms for detecting other instruments so it wouldn’t be a case of just adding.
SD3 with older sdx,s plus Rooms of Hansa and Death & Darkness. Cubase and wavelab current versions. Roland TD50x using all trigger inputs for triggering SD3 only. Windows 11 computer. Various keyboards and outboard gear as well as VST instruments. Acoustic drums: Yamaha 9000 natural wood and Pearl masters. Various snare drums. RME BabyFace Pro FS and Adam A7X monitors
Thank you for your reply – I had the same thought, it might be somewhat challenging to have an algorithm that can adapt on the fly. I am assuming the AI model would need to “learn” the sounds prior.
With that said, given that some of the SDX expansions, ie HITMAKER, has percussive sounds outside of the ones listed above, for example Claps, sidesticks, cowbells, congas, shakers and tambourines. I am wondering if purchasing of the expansion will expand the list of recognizable sounds to the ones listed above?
Do you know if that might be the case?
Hi dodo,
the Tracker has got 6 “Find” classifications but as you noticed, if you have another instrument loaded, e.g. a shaker, you can click the Edit button to open the Edit Replacement Sound menu and there select the Shaker in this case. Using the Tracker functions to refine the detection still works and when you export the MIDI, it will export to the selected instrument/articulation.
More “Find” classifications would be something for the Requests & Feedback section.
