I’m a newbie to tracker coming from UVI Drum Replacer.
1) Is there an option to copy the audio track into the project folder?
2) Is there an option to use the relative path from the audio folder? I share projects between Mac and Windows so the way the do paths is different. But relatively from the project folder shouldn’t be an issue.
3) Is it possible to have tracker continuing to follow the daw even when changing drum-kits / libraries. I like to audition the kit to blend while mixing and it’s quite clunky having to stop and start as it functions at the moment for me. It works find when staying with the same Kit/Library.
I don’t know if I understand your question. You can drag the audio into the tracker and let SD3 “decode” it and then you can put that audio file anywhere you want.
You can audition the resulting MIDI with any of the SD3 libraries. But it will take some time to load the samples with each library change.
Cubase Pro, Korg Kronos, M-50, Hammond XK-1c, Toontrack SD3, EZBass w/lots of expansions, many VSL Vi's, Shreddage 3 everything, and shit-tons of FX plugins.
Hi
Sorry i’m using SD3 as a plugin (within Reaper). I didn’t make that clear.
Using Reaper means i can easily share projects (using Google Drive) between OS’s/Machines. I have a MacBookPro and Windows Desktop
However, when i load a track into SD3, SD3 uses the full path so in Windows it will be D:\GoogleDrive\Audio\Kick.wav but in MacOs it will be Users/MBI/GoogleDrive/Kick.Wav so when i open the Reaper project with SD3 on the other OS from where i last used it, it can’t find the audio file that is loaded into SD3. (Reapers uses relative paths. So when i open my project it looks for files in the folder and subfolders from where the project it located) So it would be nice if SD3 could use relative paths.
Thank you for replying

Although I seldom share sessions/projects between Windows VM on a Macbook Pro and the Mac Studio, I do open project files by sharing the disk and folder the projects are saved to.
You mention “kick.wav”, so do you mean you are using Export Song as Audio? The same applies for Exporting Audio as saving a project.

Hi Brad
I use Google Drive to share my projects and some libraries between machines. So they can be anywhere in the world with Internet access for the syncing and then work offline with local copies and then upload again when online. But most of the time upload in real time as i’m usually connected to the internet. (Aside: I use Synology Drive at home to make the upload from my PC really quick as that’s on the LAN, then synology does the upload to Google Drive. I don’t have fibre where i live.)
Kick.wav was just an example of one part of live recorded drum kit i would be mixing (usually a Cambridge-MT track for practise). So there would be all the other elements of a drum kit eg snare top, snare bottom, toms etc . The name was just an example .
1) Is there an option to copy the audio track into the project folder?
No, feel free to make a request for such a feature in the Requests & Feedback section but I am not sure which Project you are referring to.

The answer is no for this question as well. SD3 will ask you to locate the files upon loading if the files are not present in the expected location, as you surely have noticed. Relative path to which folder exactly? The SD3 Project or the DAW Project? The Audio folder you mention is not something I have on my system, unless we’re talking about the one that gets created with every new Pro Tools Session. Are you referring to your Reaper Project’s Audio folder? To me, it seems hard to implement, since it would be different for each DAW and platform but I guess it shouldn’t be impossible (speaking as a non-programmer without any idea of the labour involved😉) Again, it’s something for the Requests & Feedback section.

I am not quite sure I follow what you are doing here. Are you only working in the Tracker? When you have the audio tracked to MIDI, don’t you drag the MIDI to the Song Track?
If your Tracked MIDI is on the Song Track and you switch kits, the Song Track should still be synching, unless you switch libraries but if your DAW’s timeline is running you can just click the Play button in SD3 and it will jump to the right position and continue.
