First…I would like to thank everyone involved with Superior Drummer 3, it is an unbelievably awesome program.
I am trying to convert some drum grooves that are .wav format into midi with Tracker. Unfortunately these .wav files have all the individual drum tracks (snare, kick, cymbals, etc) contained within the single file. When I drag it into Tracker it reads all the parts correctly but they are contained within a single track. I can’t seem to find a way to separate the parts. I watched a couple tutorials on Tracker and when they drag the .wav files into Tracker it appears that there are several individual files which I assume contain the individual drum tracks.
1- is it possible to split these tracks up within Tracker/SD3 somehow?
If not…
2- does anyone know of a program that can separate these tracks before dragging them into Tracker? I have Studio One 3 and tried Impact & Sample One but they read the files as a single track also.
Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you
I would just import the same file as many time as you need. I’ve taken a stereo drum file with mixed drums on it and first imported it and had Tracker detect kick hits. I imported the same file on a new tracker Track and had it detect the snare hits. Then imported again to detect hi hats. And so on for each tom, crashes etc.
