Tracker – All drums recorded on a single audio file

The Tracker seems works best with Multi track Drum Audio (guessing that from the promo video). I wondering though, if the the Tracker feature would work the same way with all drums (toms and cymbals) recorded on a single audio file (without other instruments of course, like bass or guitar).

I don’t have mics and at the moment but I’m able to record my acoustic drums on my iPhone 7. Would the software be able to recognise separate parts of the kit from a medium to low quality audio file?

Hi,

 

the mixed Stereo files I have tried with, have all worked surprisingly well to extract MIDI from with Tracker.

It all comes down to the quality and density of the file in question, I guess.

As for your iPhone recording you playing, it will be a pretty compressed mono file, so there’s no other way to know than to try.
