I can’t say I have experienced this behavior. Can you provide any steps to reproduce this?

In what context are you experiencing ‘song parts merging on their own.’  Are you talking about constructing a drum kit track within SD or within a DAW track?  Are you using grooves from the SD browser?

Thanks for the quick response and assistance.

When adjusting the Randomize slider in the midi editor is when they join together.

Even with Toggle Snap on or off.

Yes, the patterns merge (become one) in the Track Editor.

When information goes from one measure to the next, it merges the beat. If you need it to visually look better, use the cut tool.

If you have automation going in the background, don’t use the cut tool, leave the two parts merged. Happens in all EZ products.

Seems odd to not have an option to prevent the track parts from merging. Even a nudged overlapping the parts should keep them independent even if one of the parts mutes or trims in the overlap.

I expected more from SD3 than it really offers currently.

Exported the SD3 midi into LPro for multi-channel editing through the SD3 plugin.

    Much Thanks my friends.

I’m still having difficulty visualizing the issue for you.  When you say ‘merge’ are you talking about two segments of MIDI joined together tail to head?  Or two segments of MIDI overlapping each other and both making sounds?  Are you using the groove tab or the drum tab in SD3?  Is the problem occurring in the SD3 workspace or in Logic’s workspace?

It is possible in both SD and Logic to slide MIDI segments together, overlap them or keep them apart.

It sounds to me like you are trying to randomize a note (or notes) on the downbeat.
