Hello everyone, I just installed the full version of EZdrummer on my Mac Pro II. I run Pro Tools 8.0 and never have any problems BUT I cannot locate the EZ drummer program in my HD. I have searched for it and the only thing that comes up is SOLO. I installed all of the files yet cannot locate them. I’ve activated it on the site and it was successful. I am dying to dig into this thing! It does not show up as a plug in in Pro Tools either. I’m sorry for the dopiness but I’ve never had this issue using other drum software like BFD. Any help would really be appreciated.
I don’t use ProTools or have a Mac but I can try to help
What is the version number of EZD when you open Solo and load EZD?
Are you running the latest version of PT?

Thanks for the quick reply. I have version 1.2.1d.
Yes the latest version of PT.
I finally got the config right to work with my MboxII for sound but cannot locate the program anywhere. In Applications there is a folder for Toontrack which conatins SOLO and Soundmover, Documentation, and Toontrack product guide .pdf.
In the documentation folder after I click on it, the operation manual is located there but thats it. I can use my mouse to make drum sounds but I have a Korg nanopad that is USB I want to use, but thats another issue. I just want to access the program as a plug in on my Pro Tools. Once I see it there I can ask more silly questions. Like this, is Solo only for outside of the PT enviroment? Is SOLO meant to be used away from recording software and the regular EZdrummer is a plug in software?
Thanks again for answering my dummy questions.
I am thinking I may need to move this folder into the Digidesign folder that holds all of the plug ins? But where the heck is the regular EZdrummer software? Is this what Solo is?
Sorry, I am new to this software.
OK.
Solo is a host for Toontrack samplers (EZD and S2). It is the way for using them in a standalone capacity. Pro Tools is also a host that can load EZD.
I’m not sure how to load a virtual instrument in Pro Tools or if you have to rescan your instrument folder of PT to see the newly installed EZD.
Is SOLO meant to be used away from recording software and the regular EZdrummer is a plug in software?
Yes.

I’m sorry I can’t be more help with Pro Tools. John is one of the Toontrack forum techs that is a Pro Tools guru. He should be able to help you much better than I. I’m just wandering in the dark with a blindfold on here
Anyway, John should get you up and running but it’s the middle of the night local Sweden time, so you may have to wait until tomorrow.

Thanks, you’ve been helpful and friendly and I appreciate the kindness. I was kind of expecting to get beat up a little bit. Thats at least what happens on other help forums when newbie questions are asked.

Joeglow,
are you trying to insert EZdrummer on a Mono Instrument Track?
EZdrummer can only be found and inserted on a Stereo Instrument and it is found among the Instrument Inserts in the plugin list.
You do not need to perform any kind of manual moving or copying. RTAS gets installed where it should automatically.
Make sure that the version number displayed in the EZdrummer plugin interface is 1.2.0

Thanks John, I did make an instrument track and it was a mono track BUT it still didn’t show up as a plug in – in the drop down menu so I was a bit confused. I will try it tonight when I get home from work and make a stereo track and see if it appears in trhe list. I just find it strange that it wasn’t there at all.
It will not list on a Mono Track, since it is a Stereo only plugin

Ahhh, so it won’t even show up in the drop down menu in the plug in if I had the track made as a mono track? I can’t wait to get home and give it another look see.
