I just upgraded to Superior 3 and I was previously using Superior 2 in a live setting. I accomplished this by using Toontrack Solo, and loading up different variations of the kit configurations I was using on different midi channels. So our drummer would simply switch to a preset in the Roland brain that was outputting on midi channel 1, and that would play on the first “drummer” in Toontrack Solo, then he’d switch to another kit that transmits to channel 2, and that would play the second “drummer”, etc…
I’m not really sure how to accomplish this setup in Superior 3, as I don’t really see an option to load “drummers” like there was in Toontrack Solo. Wondering if somebody can help me out, or maybe point me in a better way to quickly change presets for live use with no loading time.
If you are on Windows this should do the trick; https://www.eareckon.com/en/products/bloxpander-vst-host-for-live-performance.html
I don’t know of an equivalent on Mac (one probably exists I just don’t know it), though you could use a DAW and load SD3 on several tracks setting the monitor switch on (for example in Studio One).
Mac Studio M1 Max, RAM 64 GB, 1TB Drive, OSX 12.x/13.x and Windows 10 (VM)
DAW: Studio One Pro (always up to date)

Yeah, I’m familiar with Bloxpander. I actually used it before I moved to Toontrack Solo, but now it feels like I’m moving backwards to have to go back to it. I was really hoping the Toontrack Solo functionality was built into the standalone product so I didn’t have to run any third party software. I probably will look for something a bit less clunky than Bloxpander though TBH. I’ve always found it a bit tedious. I’m sure there is other software that can do the job, but I was again hoping I could do it with the SD software.
I guess it also depends on the host(computer) and what timeframe you need activation. I use thunderbolt attached SSDs for all my libraries and find presets/kits load in under 10 seconds.

That’s not the issue. It’s a brand new mac mini with SSD hard drive, and I am using a Focusrite Scarlett 18i20 for midi input and to feed in the Roland samples. The kits load in a matter of seconds, but we switch songs faster than that live. I need instant switching, which we were able to achieve easily with Toontrack Solo by just changing the Roland TD-50 preset.
I hear ya and I know you’re not the first to request this kind of functionality. I also know that the developers are live on the forum a lot and make note of what is being asked for. That’s about all I know. Sorry I don’t have a better answer.

No worries, thanks for your help. Hopefully I can get an official answer. There could be something I’m missing.
