PLEASE don’t tell me I have to buy something else to make this work..
OK. But, how do you expect to render your EZdrummer MIDI drum tracks to audio wav files to import to your Korg?

The guy at Guitar Center told me ALL I needed was EZ Drummer to do what I needed (I explained to him in detail) – I bought that – then found out I needed a sequencer – I bought that
– now what do I need ?
and after I buy this do I even need my Korg ?
sorry if i’m coming off as a jerk but I’ve been mislead @ GC – thanks

What sequencer do you have? Can you please list all the gear you are using/going to be using?
For example:
I’m using EZdrummer for drum sounds and EZplayer to brows and construct my drum parts. Then I drag my EZplayer drum track into my computer host DAW (Reaper/Cubase/ProTools/etc.) and render that to 16-bit audio wav. Then I import that into my Korg. Then I can overdub guitars/bass/keys on the Korg.
That would be a workflow.

I’m sorry – i’m old school and not up on my computer jargon –
I had hoped I could I could choose beats in EZ Drummer then construct those beats in EZ Player Pro (sequencer right ?) and then save that file as a wav on my laptop and import it into my Korg D888 via USB cable. If something else is needed please enlighten me
I have EZ Drummer and EZ Player Pro @ this point – thanks
EZplayer is not a sequencer. It’s a MIDI organizer, multi-track MIDI arranger and MIDI mapping format conversion tool. It has no capability of rendering audio wav files. That is where a DAW is required.

I would assume that you also have a computer as well. I’m not sure your computer specs though.
If so, it would seem to me that all that you would need is a DAW. Reaper is a cheap but great DAW that can load EZdrummer and EZplayer and can render audio wav files.
http://www.cockos.com/reaper/index.php
It has a free, fully functional 30 day demo to try and see if it works as you want.
Here’s how I would work with your gear.
Open up Reaper and load EZdrummer as a VST instrument. This will create a track that you can load MIDI onto. You can drag MIDI directly from the EZdrummer browser onto this Reaper track and construct your drum part. Or, you can load EZplayer on the same channel as EZdrummer and brows and drag MIDI from EZplayer onto the EZplayer Arranger track to create your drum part. Then, you can select all the MIDI from the EZplayer Arranger and drag it to your Reaper track. Next, you need to render to audio wav. Using the time selectors in Reaper, you select the drum part and select Render in Reaper to create a wav file. Import to Korg.
It may seem complicated at first (like anything else) but will seem like cake after awhile. Creating your drums in Reaper has many advantages. First, you can use the Multi Out function in the EZdrummer Mixer to route 8 Stereo channels (Kick, snare, hi hats, etc.) out to Reaper. This will allow you to insert effects (eq, compressors, etc.) on individual kit pieces to mix the kit like you want. You can set up a reverb effect Aux send and add reverb to the snares and a different amount on the toms. You can compress the Room channel to get a rocking/pumping sound. Lots of creative possibilities.

after rereading this – did I need EZ Player at all now that I have Reaper (thanks again)
I bought it because someone on this forum said that’s what I needed ?
what purpose will it serve me @ this point – if I don’t need it at all can I get a refund ?
I have no problem keeping it if it serves a REAL purpose but from what i’m reading it doesn’t seem necessary ?
or is it necessary ?
can anyone shed any light on this or should I just go ahead and dispute it with Mastercard – do I need this (EZ Player Pro) or not ?
$50 bucks is $50 Bucks and i’m all but laid off right now –
Hi,
I would say you don’t need EZplayer Pro if you have EZdrummer and Reaper.
To be fair, the person who recommended EZplayer Pro to you (just a user not company employee) said it was a mid librarian, midi player and didn’t mention exporting audio. They also suggested you download the EZplayer manual (free) so you could get an idea how it functions BEFORE you go ahead and buy the product.
Still, you could try for a refund.
Anyway, it does seem you’ve been ill informed by GC or didn’t quite grasp what they told you when you bought EZdrummer.
It is a plug-in, most commonly used in conjunction with a computer music workstation (known as a DAW).
One of the major features of EZdrummer is the ability to continually modify the drum parts and arrangement via midi, also the ability to change drum sounds as you go along. Once the EZdrummer sounds and parts are resolved to WAV, you lose that flexibility. So Reaper is definitely the way to go in my opinion, to get the best out of EZdrummer.
In the end yes, once you have constructed your drum parts and chosen the sounds, you can record to WAV and import to the Korg, but as I say, that sort of locks you in and takes away some of EZdrummer’s flexible features.
